This explains the importance behind increasing the power of your exercise routines along with the concentration. Escalating the amount refers to picking up extra weights or raising your speed or the slant when you ride a bike or run. To increase density, you have to reduce the rest time between sets.

You can start with short distances and a pace that’s comfortable, and gradually increase your speed and distance. Ideally, it’s good to walk four to six times per week for forty-five minutes to an hour or even longer. This may seem like a lot, but many people find that it’s relaxing and enjoyable, especially if you find a partner or group to walk with. Was I Hypnotized plus did it work?

So another query I get from clients sometimes is how do I’m aware That I was in a hypnotic trance?

Well this is strange one because clients have all of these weird ideas of what a trance is, how they should feel that has been informed from watching shows on Television movies for example. If you recall my earlier article on “What is Hypnotherapy (Trance) “, I describe what it is and gave you some examples of what similar trances are so you can get an idea of what a Hypnotic trace feels like.

Just to sum up I revealed that “Hypnosis feels like, exactly the same as when you have your eyes closed! Its that simple”.

What Hypnosis is

An awake state

State of Relaxation

State of imagination

Rapport with your Subconscious

Ultimate display of control

What Hypnosis is not

Sleep

State of unconsciousness

State of being puny minded

Loss of self control

So shut your eyes and relax and this is exactly what hypnosis feels like, that is all their is to it.

Now saying that there are a several things we are able to do to show clients that they was in a hypnotic trance, the first one is the hypnotherapist may use convincers to demonstrate to the customer they are in a hypnotic trance. A convincer is a technique used to get the customer to do things that demonstrate to the hypnotherapist and customer that the hypnosis is working. Examples of convincers are, Heavy Eyes – At the count of three you’ll realize that you cannot open your eyes event if you try. Heavy Arm – Focus on your arm and notice how heavy it is and getting heavier all the time in fact in a moment I’ll ask you to raise it and no matter how hard you try you can’t. Light Arm – Imagine that you have a piece of string attached to your wrist and a big helium balloon is at the other end of the string, which is floating up and up and your arm will begin rising at the count of 3 it’ll go up higher and higher being drawn up by the balloon.

Now these are convincers that can be performed when in a hypnotic trance the other place to do them is after finishing the hypnosis and the therapy work with the customer, this is when I often do the testing/convincers. So the session has finished so how do you know you were in a hypnotic trance and it has worked well we will be able to test the work we have done to see that it now works. So lets return to a give up smoking hypnosis client who wants to quit and in the pre-session elicitation we found out that the individual smokes most of the time when they get anxious and angry.

In the pre-session we worked this out by asking the customer to close their eyes and go back to several memories in turn of when they smoked and we ask them to associate into the memory see what you saw, hear what you heard, and notice how do you feel now just before you made a decision to smoke? They will tell us how they felt at that point exactly. In the post session we do the exact same thing! Make them return to the memory see what they saw, hear what they heard and try as hard as they can to get back any of that old feelings or notice what happens instead now.

The result is they will have the memory and they’ll know what they used to feel when they recalled that memory, but this time they will not be well placed to feel exactly the same feelings/emotions because we have removed the feelings/emotions from that memory! In effect removing the trigger that caused them to smoke in the 1st place. We also test everything else we discovered in the pre-session elicitation to affirm that everything has worked and they can no longer do what they used to do to smoke.

At this state the single thing left is to leave and get back into their normal life to begin to note the changes that take place in their behavior by comparing how they were before the session to how they are after the session in their normal life routine. As a smoker they just wont smoke or feel like it.

What is NLP?

NLP stands for N – Neuro (neurological processes), L – Linguistic (language), P – Programming (behavioural patterns which have been learned through experience)

NLP is a way system or approach to studying how individuals do what they do in their mind and modelling that individuals excellence, so it can be copied and then teach it to others through various methodologies that come out of the modelling process. Meaning it’s the study of structure of subjective experience. A couple of examples of where this is of use is quit smoking hypnosis, bing eating or somebody doing drugs. Once you have studied how people do this, you may then infer how people do a similar thing more or less, for instance many of these behaviors will involve feeling bad feelings that trigger the behaviour, eliminating the emotions will take away the trigger and therefor the behavior in most cases.

To further explain this with an example in the early days Richard Bandler decided to work out how to help individuals who suffer from a phobia! So he commenced advertising in the paper asking for individuals to get in contact with him who’ve had a phobia, which they also got over it and no longer have it anymore. This collected to Richard many individuals who had diverse differing types of phobic disorder and he relates how all of these individuals told him roughly a similar thing thing.

Richard said to them well you had a phobia, so how did you get over it? And all of them said roughly the same. It started with them saying, “after many years of this I got sick and tired of it, thats it I cant take it any longer” that was the straw that broke the camels back. They then claimed “I looked at myself and saw how foolish it was to be terrified taking a look at myself from across the room”.

So what they actually did was disassociated from the image in their mind which means rather than seeing through their own eyes, you see your self in the image essentially stepping out of the flick and watching it from a far. Thru doing this you can’t feel the way you used to about the situation and the behavior disappears.

So once this information was gathered a technique was developed to replicate what these individuals did, then it was applied to individuals who had a phobia! What we do is teaching the subconscious of these individuals how to change the way in which they think in order to stop them doing the phobia! It works fast and forever. I use it all of the time with my clients and then I tell them to go out and do the thing that used to cause the issue.

NLP is so very much more than this and it is really tough to explain easily and succinctly, the way That I usually describe it is NLP is the study of the mind and emotions to work out how you construct your reality or map of reality and how do you do what you do. When you know this you may then start to change how you believe, feel at a subconscious level to modify the way in which you behave, believe and feel! From this you change your behaviours to get what it is in your life that you really need.

NLP is the pursuit of excellence!

Submodalities and Hypnotherapy

In the last article I talked about in NLP terms sub-modalities. So I thought I should go over this in some detail to explain what this is before moving on with other topics of interest.

Sub-modalities are the details which make up the representations of our thoughts as I have discussed in the prior article on Representational Systems. Lets put this in context lets say you are a smoker, your a visual person and you wish to quit smoking hypnosis. So we can ask what do you see when your think of smoking and a person may see them-self feeling relaxed smoking. So that the first point is they really see an image of them self smoking and also feeling relaxed while doing it.

So now we will be able to ask the client the following question to elicit the sub-modalities of the image.

Where is the image found? – front, front low, front right etc,

Is it black and white or colour?

Is the image nearby or far?

Is it bright or dim?

What size is the picture?

Are you Associated (looking thru own eyes) or Disassociated (see self in the image)?

Is it focused or defocused?

Is it framed or panoramic?

Is it a film or still?

Is it 3D or flat?

We will also do this for Auditory, Kinaesthetic and Olfactory. clients use multiple representational systems to represent the world they’re often present to their favorite one and after you ask the question for all the others systems the details will emerge. Often you will not elicit anything from one representational system or 2 still it is worth checking to see what comes out of the elicitation.

So now that we have this info what do we do with it well their are numerous things you can do with this info, I’ll concentrate on one which is manipulating the sub-modalities to create a different relationship to the first issue. So lets return to the smoking, we can get them to change the sub-modalities to the opposite to see what happens and how this effects how they feel about the activity. For example change the image to black and white or color, move the image near or far, change the size of the picture, make the picture bright or dim and so on. This may change the associated feeling of the activity! We can also do the same for Auditory, Kinaesthetic, Auditory digital.

By doing this we can change or remove the way that the person feels about smoking so that they can dislike doing it as much as they used to like it and this is more useful. If they enjoy the activity and we want them to hate the activity we will be able to also elicit the sub-modalities of another activity they really hate doing compare the two and transfer across the differences to make the activity of smoking the same as the activity they actually hate.

We are able to usually eliminate a negative feeling or positive feeling that could be causing a problem with a person so solving the problem for them in the way that’s more handy for the person.
